Witmore has been providing supported employment and training to people with a disability since 1958.
Our story began more than 60 years ago, at a time when people with a disability had few opportunities. Witmore was created from the voices of two families in the Singleton region in 1958; the Witt and the Moore families. These two courageous families dared to dream big for their children; they rallied together and opened the first school in our region for children with a disability. Then as these children grew older, they opened the first supported workshop. Today, Witmore continues to walk in their footsteps and we now offer a diverse range of services including: Community participation Social events Supported holidays 1:1 supports Personal care Respite Supported employment Business Services Coordination of supports. |
We strive to support all our stakeholders with compassion, choice and integrity;
while being an innovative leader in the disability sector. With integrity, all employees and volunteers will act in an honest, consistent and transparent way. With courage, all employees and volunteers will find new ways, learn from mistakes and support colleagues. With accountability, all employees and volunteers will take responsibility for decisions and actions to achieve agreed outcomes. With respect, all employees and volunteers will act with courtesy by listening to differences of opinion and show respect to those of different race, culture, religion, language, gender and ability. With excellence, all employees and volunteers will aim to work towards excellent outcomes. |
